FBA is Critical Craftwork: Building Knowledge Through Creative Inquiry and Expression

LET'S CONNECT THROUGH THE STORIES WE TELL

Feminist Border Arts (FBA), founded by Dr. M. Catherine Jonet and Dr. Laura Anh Williams, is a ten-year collaborative initiative merging the humanities and arts to create new forms of expression and curation. Through research-based creative projects, curated festivals, design, collaboration, and storytelling, FBA brings forward underrepresented perspectives and fresh ideas to drive social awareness and change.

FBA’s signature projects include the Feminist Border Arts Film Festival (FBAFF), Feminist Border Arts Zine Fest (FBAZF), zines, and original works in graphic narratives, film/video, and digital storytelling. Employing a research-creation methodology, FBA transcends traditional academic boundaries to democratize knowledge production and share diverse stories through creative expression.

As a platform, FBA bridges critical theory with creative work in women’s, gender, queer, and feminist expression, establishing an interdisciplinary space for new perspectives and public discourse.
